An illustrated self-led map trail for KS3 school groups, including an infographic timeline
HRP education asked me to produce a self-guiding educational trail that would appeal to KS3 school groups visiting the Tower of London.
With the invaluable help of learning producer Rose Crossgrove, we developed the concept of a 'Gory Stories' trail.
Pupils are challenged to explore different routes at the Tower, gathering evidence and working out for themselves the extent to which the Tower deserves its famously gory reputation. Teachers bring all pupils together for a group discussion after exploring the Tower.
BRIEF
Help KS3 school groups develop an appreciation of the different roles the Tower of London has fulfilled in its history, in particular as a prison, a fortress and a palace.
